November bulletin
Friday, November 22, 2013

The lease on the Centre was signed at the end of October, and building work to adapt some parts of the building to meet the needs of the NHS started on the 4th of November. NHS England are currently making arrangements for a GP service to start around the time the residents move in to the East Village, with further news expected imminently.

Open House
Tuesday, September 24, 2013

233 members of the public took advantage of the opportunity to visit the Centre over the weekend of 21st and 22nd September, when the doors were opened, along with over 830 other buildings, as part of the annual London Open House event. Members of the NHS team responsible for organising the Centre’s use were joined by representatives from the architects, who were able to answer questions about the building's design, architecture and green features. In addition to local residents, pupils from the neighbouring Academy, and prospective residents of the apartments in the former Athletes’ Village, people travelled from across London – and even Sweden – to see the Centre.

September bulletin
Monday, September 16, 2013

It is expected that the NHS lease on the Centre will be signed in late September to early October. A couple of weeks later, builders will start to retrofit some parts of the building to adapt it to the needs of the NHS. This will be followed by the installation and testing of equipment. While equipping the building will go on for several weeks, NHS England are committed to provide a GP service from this autumn, together with a pharmacy. The remainder of the services will be phased in from the new year.
